About this Cook
My favorite family cooking traditions
Love cooking with my daughter (15) and son (7).
My cooking triumphs
Having one of my kids say "Dad, this is the best ____ ever." Or, my daughter cooking a birthday surprise for me and me managing to stay out of the kitchen most of the time even though it was killing me.
My cooking tragedies
Setting off the smoke alarm and getting visited by the fire department in my apartment twice- once cooking burgers for my mom and kids- once browning Italian sausage for a soup.

Beef Bourguignon II
Excellent dish. I doubled and used equal parts beef broth and wine. Also added some celery with the carrots. Used some diced salt pork (per more traditional recipes)- brown that then use the drippings to brown your vegetables. Also added a tablespoon of tomato paste per many other recipes. Finally, managed to make this a one pot dish in my dutch oven- did everything in there. Also, cooked at 300 for three hours, removed meat and simmered on top of stove until reduced a bit. Very very good dish. Very rich. Served on extra wide egg noodles.

Pizza Casserole
Easy and quick meal, and as you might guess, a big hit with the kids.

Chicken with Stuffing
We liked this quite a bit. Used cornbread stuffing in a bag instead of stovetop mix. Also used broth instead of water.
