The first time I made this with cranberries and it was fantastic but the second time I wanted to make use of some other ingredients so I omitted the cranberries and used only the walnuts in the scones. Also, I added plain yogurt instead of half and half (I didn't measure it, just added until consistency was just wet enough for the dough to stick together). I also substituted one cup wheat flour for one cup of the white flour. For the fun part, I topped it with sliced strawberries with a sprinkle of sugar, homemade creme fraiche and the dark color is a little drizzle of balsamic vinegar. Mmmmm breakfast.
