About this Cook
I'm from Southern West Virginia and learned about all of my cooking from my grandmother and aunt. I'm always interested in learning more recipes and techniques to make life a little easier. I am starting to get arthritis in my hands so I'm needing ways AROUND some things I'm having trouble with like opening things.
My favorite things to cook
I am open to new things but mostly southern fattening recipes :D I make a mean kettle of pinto beans and all the fixin's. I love to bake too.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Our Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners are awesome. We also love to bake a lot for Halloween. My aunt really made the Holidays fun and yummy and I'm trying to carry on the traditions.
My cooking triumphs
I cook lots of stuff but I'm sure not as much as some of the cooking on here. I make an excellent cheesecake supreme. I'm good at the pinto bean and cornbread meals...any country cooking - almost ;)
My cooking tragedies
I can't make a homemade cathead biscuit to save my life. If you can break the outside open the insides are soft...lol.
