My name is Laura. I am 23 and mom to Chloe. I am a stay at home mom. I enjoy taking care of my family, which of course, includes cooking! I love trying all kinds of new food. I also enjoying trying to make new things.
My favorite things to cook
I love grilling chicken and ribs, something about that grilled flavor. I like to experiment with making my own sauces with fresh tomatoes. One of my favorites is to try to spice up meatloaf. It's fun to see what different things I can add to it to give it some flare.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Making Christmas cookies and nutrolls. Rolling out noodles for chicken pot pie. Letting the steam out of the preasure cooker when making beef stew (my mom always told us we were letting the Genie out). Just the smell of a roast cooking feels like family to me.
My cooking triumphs
I made an awesome birthday dinner for myself this year, apple cider pork tenderloin, roasted sweet potatoes with a pecan maple topping, and greens. I have also mastered a black bean dish that is now a family favorite. Also my first Thanksgivng turned out awesome.
My cooking tragedies
Recently I managed to ruin chicken and dumplings. I added to many veggies, cooked it to long, then scorched it to the bottom of the pan. Wasn't even fit for eatting let alone leftovers! Once I completely under cooked pork ribs when I tried to bake them.
