My family and I recently relocated to Pennsylvania. The weather is different and the town is much smaller than where we lived previously (San Antonio, Texas) so to keep myself and kids busy we bake! It is way too cold for us to play outside so by winter's end we should be master bakers!
My favorite things to cook
I love cooking Latin food. Everyone begs me to cook it for them and I have been told I should open my own place. I love making tamales and chile rellenos, those are my faves because I can make alot at once!
My favorite family cooking traditions
I didn't really grow up with a parent that taught me how to cook. It just became something that I loved to do. So I make it a point that at least once a week my kids and I bake or make something together. It is usually something sweet and we love to decorate cookies!
My cooking triumphs
My latin food... arroz con pollo, arroz con leche, enchiladas, tostados, plantinos, empanadas, tamales... you name it ... I have just about perfected it, or so I have been told, lol.
My cooking tragedies
Biscuits! The first time I tried to make homemade biscuits they were so flat and hard they could cut diamonds. After many many attempts and a secret from my wonderful Grandmother... I finally learned the art of home-made biscuits.
