About this Cook
Hey everyone! I have been using this site for a few years now and decided I should start an account finally! My favorite thing about allrecipies.com is that the recipies are rated! That really helps when looking for a new good meal idea, its always nice to find something that's "tried, tested and true!" :) so by me signing up I can also rate the recipies I try. I am a married to my highschool honey, and together we have two amazing kids, Quentin and Ava. I am a small town girl, formerly a city girl having moved from Edmonton to a town 2 hrs west named Edson. My husbands company transferred him here 3 and a bit years ago and this is where we've been ever since! At first it was a hard adjustment moving to such a small place but many good things have come for us here, our children were born and last year we bought our first home on an aceage just outside of town. Although I sometimes miss the conveniences of a big city, I really have come to appreciate what a smaller com
My favorite things to cook
I love trying new things but I do have a few faves! I love slowcoocker chicken taco soup, a recipie I got from this site, as its so simple and a nice change from the usual tacos! I also love baking cookies! Any kind of cookie! But I do have a pretty darn good recipie for chocolate chip cookies ;)

Ninety Minute Cinnamon Rolls
I made these the other day and was a little bit scared because they didn't rise at all before cooking but I decided to put them in anyway and they did end up rising, these turned out good, my husband loved them and I thought they were just ok, but I am picky! :)

Amish White Bread
Really tasty! Really easy! Before finding this recipe I had never made bread without a bread machine, I was always a bit intimidated by it but this recipe had great reviews and sounded easy enough so I gave it a whirl and like another member said, this recipe is foolproof, it turned out wonderfully! I actually prefer to make rolls with the dough, because I'm not a fan of to loaf bread being so sweet, if I do make loaves, I cut the sugar in half. ENJOY!!!

Scalloped Potatoes and Pork Chops
I really like this recipe because it is relatively easy to make and has really good flavor! The potatoes really don't cook in the time the recipe calls for and the first time I made this I tried to follow other people's advice about first cooking them in the microwave for ten minutes but it still didn't seem to be enough so this time I tried boiling the scalloped potatoes first and that was perfect! Just be careful not to over boil! :) also wanted to add that I left out the margarine this time because the cheese makes it "juicy" enough as it is. Pork chops come out very tender and delicious! I used the skinny ones and seasoned them with seasoning salt and pepper. Enjoy!!!
