About this Cook
I am just learning to cook- I love trying new foods and new flavors, yet I always end up making the same thing. I love All Recipes because I find some of the most interesting and yummy ideas for meals.
My favorite things to cook
I like carmalize onions. I love the smell and I love how they taste in just about anything.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My Step-mom was an amazing cook- she was always making everything from scratch. I remeber her biscuits and chicken dumpling soup.
My cooking triumphs
Hmmm. I made a yummy pork roast with a cranberry compote(thanks to this website!) and I discovered couscous. Cook it in some low-soduim chicken broth, add chicken and vegtables, flavor with cumin, crumble some feta on top and Wal-la, easy good-for-you-dinner!
My cooking tragedies
Hahaha! Anything that says "Bake" in the directions! I am good with the stove top, not so good with the oven!

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie
Delicious! I didn't have any Vanilla extract when I started baking these so I used vanilla yogurt and they still turned out good. Mine were just a little bit crispy on the edges, but otherwise absolutely yummy. I am an awful baker and these are the FIRST chocolate chip cookies I've ever made that didn't end up like a dried out biscuit! Thanks for this recipe-I will proably use it for a long time before I try any others.

Marbled Pumpkin Cheesecake
This is the FIRST cheesecake I have ever made, I've now made it twice! Both times I used McCormick Pumpkin-Pie Spice instead of the spices called for in the recipe only because I love the flavor of pumpkin pie. I also added about a pinch of ground cloves. I read the reviews before making this and tried the water bath in the oven and my cheesecake didn't crack. One cup of the white marbling seemed too much at first- but the second time I made this cheesecake I decided to give it a try and I am very glad I did-it looks and tastes even better!
