About this Cook
Almost everyone in my family has a culinary talent. My grandmother was the best cook I have ever met. She would spend hours teaching me everything she knew in the kitchen. My dad attended culinary school and was in the restaurant business for many years. I tried to pick up on as many techniques as I could from his background. I continue to learn about food so that I can live up to my family standard.
My favorite things to cook
I enjoy making desserts and perfected the art of the chocolate chip cookie by the time I was eleven. I also enjoy experimenting with new recipes and cook about anything.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Growing up, my dad would fix breakfast for my brother and I every weekend. The smell of pancakes and bacon were our alarm clock on these days.
My cooking triumphs
With the help of my grandmother and mom, I catered my own wedding this summer. We made cheese balls, broccoli salad, pasta salad, sandwiches, pinwheels, fruit and veggie platters, spinach and artichoke dip, wings, mini quiche, meatballs, and sangria. I continue to get compliments on the food.
My cooking tragedies
When I was ten, I was using the electric mixer to make a batch of cookies with my grandma. My hair was very long and was dangling over the bowl. Needless to say, my hair got tangled up in the beaters. It didn’t hurt in the least, but my brother was convinced I would have to be scalped. Luckily, I kept by beautiful hair and we made a new batch of delicious cookies.

Dumplings
These are just like grandma's. Very tender and have a wonderful flavor. I like to roll mine about a quarter of an inch thick and use a pizza cutter to cut into 1 inch squares.

Peanut Butter Chip Chocolate Cookies
These cookies are to die for! Anytime I bring them to a party they get rave reviews. Have replaced peanut butter chips for chocolate chips which is also a good result.

Raspberry Fudge Brownies
A great way to dress up a standard brownie. Cannot believe that the recipe submitter is only 18 years old. Her culinary skills are way beyond her years!
