Once the sausage browned I sprinkled a little sage, basil, and oregano on it. Then added about 1 Tb minced garlic, 1/4 cup chopped onion, and a 4 oz can mushrooms. Then instead of cottage cheese I used about 3/4 container ricotta. I then sprinkled fresh parsely on top. I then served it with homemade wheat garlic bread and mixed veggies. My husband loved it!!
