About this Cook
I started really cooking in college when I couldn't take the cafeteria food anymore, and now that I've graduated grad school and am supposedly a working girl, am discovering how hard it is to cook satisfying meals after a long day.
My favorite things to cook
Soup! One bowl meals are my quick and easy fallout solution.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mother is Japanese and my father is Southern: I am a veritable Asian-Fusion cook. I love making real Japanese family dishes (not the stuff you'll find in restaurants) and serving Southern Peach Cobbler for dessert!

Broccolified Cornbread
I was skeptical to be the first to try this recipe, but it came out really well! I used this recipe as a topping for veggie cornbread casserole to REALLY get the veggies in there, and it was a big hit! I used the diced frozen broccoli for ease, and a ts of b.power bc I didn't have soda but it rose fine anyway. I think I might add some garlic to it next time, to boost the flavors. This recipe's a keeper, thanks!!

Cream Cheese Frosting II
i made this for a double-layer carrot cake, and had some left over for cupcakes. i made the recipe as is: it's very cheesecakey and rich, and so so so good. i would not change the proportions at all.

Whole Wheat Blueberry Pancakes
these made big, thick, fluffy pancakes! I love that they are 100% w.wheat, so I don't have to fuss w/ oatmeal or wheat germ or whatnot. I made mine w/ peach slices and soy milk, and a dollop of pancake syrup for the sugar (which is a great trick for any pancake recipe). Burning them is totally my fault and not the recipe's, so 5stars strong! :D
