About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake and unfortunately eat sweet goodies. Now that I have a toddler I am getting away from this and leaning more towards low fat mainly veggie meals. Soups, stews and anything goes in the slow cooker....
My cooking tragedies
Always take the bag out of the turkey. :)

After-Thanksgiving Turkey Soup
If you are willing to take the time this soup is absolutely worth it. I gave a huge bowl away to two luck folks and still had a pot in the fridge and one in the freezer for later. I made no changes to the recipe and I can't express how delicious it was. We served it over warm biscuits as it has a great stew quality to it. Absolutely fantastic!!!

Award Winning Peaches and Cream Pie
This pie is to die for. I have made it as written and it is so yummy. I have also done with fresh peaches which is best in my opinion. I added about 1/4 cup very ripe peaches to the cream cheese mixture and blended until smooth and just chopped about 5 or 6 peaches for the rest of the recipe. AMAZING! Surprisingly easy to make as well. THANKS for sharing!

Bird Seed Energy Bars
These are very good. We make a tray and freeze individual squares every other month or so. We have made as stated which is excellent and we have also made with modifications which we enjoy. We usually add 1 cup of chocolate chips and 1 cup of flaked coconut. Butterscotch chips give a great flavor too. We have also cut the oil and replaced 1/2 with applesauce and there really is no change in the flavor. Very nice recipe. THANKS!
