About this Cook
I've been a vegetarian since February 2008 and am have been experimenting (usually successfully) with various ingredients and cooking methods. I always enjoy learning new things too!
My favorite things to cook
Anything vegetarian. Most desserts fit this category too! Yum! =)
My favorite family cooking traditions
I grew up with many favorites that my Mom would make. Among the ones I remember most fondly are city chicken, shrimp scampi, lasagna, bubble bread, green jello salad, and mint chip ice cream cakes. Unfortunately, many of those that I so enjoyed are no longer in my diet (vegetarian). So, I'll make some new ones. Got any suggestions? =)
My cooking triumphs
A near-perfect white chocolate raspberry cheesecake for my Mom's birthday. Using everything up from my CSA without wasting much. Next year I'm shooting for not wasting a thing! A new theme for every dinner party that always goes off well!
My cooking tragedies
Not using all the tomatoes from my garden and CSA this year. A horrible watermelon pie at my Greek-themed dinner party last year (good thing I had store-bought baklava as a backup).

Cheese Stuffed Mushroom Appetizer
I've made these on three different occasions now, and every time I'm caught off guard by how delicious they are! The only change I make is to add minced garlic to the stuffing mixture, but these are scrumptious even without it! Thanks for sharing a great recipe!

Baked Cheese Olives
These were yummy! I made them for a holiday party where I served a variety of appetizers. If you don't like olives, you won't enjoy these, but if you're an olive fan (like my mother and I) then you will love them! My only complaint was that it was a LOT of work to cover the olives in the dough. But the result was a salty bite of yumminess!

Double Tomato Bruschetta
Yummy! I made this for a holiday party where everything served was finger foods, and this was a huge hit! The only thing that I did slightly differently was to let the mixture sit overnight to allow the flavors to mingle, and to use slices of natural mozzarella on top instead of the shredded kind. Thanks for the fantastic recipe!
