About this Cook
Learned to cook when I got married years ago could not even cook rice back then. Now four kids later still cooking and very interested in AR gives me new ideas.
My favorite things to cook
Anything that is quick and easy since I also work fulltime. I leave the longer time consuming ones for the weekend. Prefer baking casseroles or any main dish since this gives me time once in the oven. Also like to make desserts for home and recently freshly baked bread.
My favorite family cooking traditions
A full spread for Sunday lunch is the tradition in my country and my family look foward to this. Christmas when the family gets together and there is quite a lot of food. A few years ago I took over the cooking since my Mom got ill. She still does the turkey though I do the sides and dessert. Began baking with my youngest as a pastime together maybe a new tradition.
My cooking triumphs
My first son's birthday cake which really came out well and I was still learning my way around the kitchen. There have been many since, then I guess just having lunch (the main meal in my country)on the table and hear it was good is triumph enough.
My cooking tragedies
Oh yeah my first few months of learning to cook I tried to "fry" rice that spit all over the floor and on me and most recently the corn pie I tried from AR. The dish broke in the oven and everything went all over the oven. Not sure what happened yet.

Fluffy Biscuit Muffins
With no bread in the house and not much time before my sons got up I looked up AR for a simple biscuit recipe. This was it quick and simple. I did double and added 2tsp brown sugar to the doubled amount giving me 11 muffins. Will definitely be making again.

Spanish Rice II
My son loved this rice however both my daughter and myself could not handle the heat. Will try again with less chile powder maybe just 1/4 tsp.
