About this Cook
Cooking is a great passion in my life. It has always interested me but I never had the time or resources to make it a hobby. I have recently moved into a house with a huge kitchen which is giving me all the space I need to tackle any recipe! Another aspect of cooking that I love is making delicious, healthy food for my family. I am getting married in October and I love knowing I will be able to create wonderful meals with my fiance!
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook anything! I really enjoy trying something I never thought I would be able to cook: a challenging recipe, using a cooking technique that is new, ethnic foods, etc...
My favorite family cooking traditions
When I think of my family and cooking two things come to mind. First, my mother, sister and me making Christmas cookies. We would make so many different kinds. Then we would fill cookie tins to the top and bring them over to our friends. It really helped make Christmas special. The second thing I think of is something my sister used to do. When she got into her mid teens she started making birthday cakes for everyone in my family on their birthday. She would pick very elaborate cakes and always seemed to pull them off! Now when birthdays come around everyone asks her what kind of cake she is going to make!

Lemon Garlic Tilapia
I made this for my fiance and we both thought this was amazing! Neither one of us is a big fish lover, but the fish turned out so tasty. I omitted the parsley and used fresh dill instead which added a nice bit of flavor. I agree with previous posters about the cook time. I cooked it for 25 mins at 375 and the fatter side of the fillet was very juicy but the thin side was dry. Next time I will cut the cook time down.

Grilled Yellow Squash
I don't own a grill so I baked these in my oven using aluminum foil instead. I added zucchini to the mix as well and they both turned out great! I couldn't taste the garlic too much, but even still this was delicious! This will be my go to recipe for yellow squash from now on!

Easy Vodka Sauce
This has become one of the most requested meals from my fiance. It is so simple and delicious we can't stop eating it! Like a few others have suggested, let it cook for the full time it says. It really makes a difference in the flavors.
