Since I discovered this web site I have used choppers, blenders, multiple chopping boards and have used my blender a whole lot more.  I have had friends over and cooked more than one entree for dinner.  I have been cooking and chatting with my friends at the same time.  I feel… MORE

About this Cook
I am a 45 year old mother of an 19 year old daughter and a grandmother to a 2 year old grandson and a brand new granddaughter. Good thing I have a lot of energy.
My favorite things to cook
I love baking pies. I love Barbecuing and making new sauces and marinades.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My daughter loves for me to make her my fried chicken, tacos, lasagna, and something we call sloppy tortillas, (My dad made up this recipe)
My cooking triumphs
I would love to be able to make cobbler, and not be intimidated by any recipe. I love entertaining and cooking for my friends.
My cooking tragedies
I followed a recipe for baby back ribs. The ribs were burned and dry, and we had to force them down. Lol. I just changed the recipe. (Not so long in the oven before barbecuing).

Aunt Bev's Famous Apple Pie
This is a really easy recipe. It is cooking right now, and smells wonderful. I am giving it to my mother, but I am definitely going to make another one for my family at home tomorrow. If I don't they will probably kill me.

Pigs in a Blanket
Want to hear a funny story about these? I bought the small crescent rolls, and little smokies and sliced sharp cheddar cheese. I have never bought crescent rolls, so I couldn't figure out how to open the pkg at first. I though I was going to have to call the 800 number. Finally, I figured out that you have to unwrap the paper and then the thing pops. I felt like an idiot. But then, I wrapped 2 little smokies and a half of cheddar cheese slice up in the crescent rolls and baked for about 11 minutes. Yummmmmm.

Ham Cheddar Chowder
This is an awesome recipe. I added about a tsp of garlic powder and about a half tsp of garlic salt. After I added the ham and potatoes it cooked up really really thick, so I just added about cup or so more of milk so it was not too thick. It came out great. Yummmmmmm. Thanks. I am going to give some to my 2 year old grandson when he wakes up. Then we shall see.........LOL
