Scottish Shortbread IV

Compared to other shortbread recipes, this is just okay. The consistency is a little hard to work with (My dough was very soft and tore easily -- it made for some interesting looking cookies). The taste wasn't exceptional but not terrible. Overall, just okay.

Absolutely the Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

This recipe is okay but I thought the shortening took away from the flavor. I did use butter flavored shortening but the effect was inferior to that of cookies made with butter.

Truck-Stop Buttermilk Pancakes

I've tried making these a few different times (One using vinegar & milk for buttermilk substitute that didn't work out and one following the recipe exactly). These pancakes always turn out extremely bland. The look, fluffiness and feel of the pancakes are perfect but the taste isn't good at all.

J.P.'s Big Daddy Biscuits

Very good recipe - On the quest for the perfect biscuit recipe, I've made 4 different versions from other recipes. This one is by FAR the best. However, the taste wasn't spectacular. I may split the shortening with butter next time.

Fluffy Biscuits

This recipe is awesome! I substituted butter for the shortening, per many other reviews -- I think had I made this with shortening the recipe would've lacked flavor. My end result was a fantastic flavor, with a so-so texture :)
