Lentil Soup
i made this tonight and feel like it MUST get all 5 stars, especially with the help of some reviewers!! my big change was that i added mild italian sausage - i cooked the sausage in the pot and then pulled it all out and left just the grease and cooked the carrots, celery and onion in it - i also used 4C chicken stock and 2 C water and a full 28 oz can of crushed tomatoes (and then threw the sausage back in) and added about 8 small potatoes as well. i cooked this down for about an hour and a half. i used balsamic vinegar at the end as well -- i know i made a lot of changes (most from other review suggestions) but they are WELL worth it... i will make this all winter!!
