Apple Crisp III

I really liked this recipe, which was extremely easy to make. The only recommendation I would make is to add about 1/8 teaspoon of salt to the crisp to give it a little more dimension.

Sean's Falafel and Cucumber Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2009
Not only is this recipe absolutely simple, it's delicious too! Even though the recipe doesn't recommend adding the beans to the food processor, it's okay if you do. I've tried both ways and find that processing the beans with the onion/parsley/garlic mixture is not only a lot faster, but gives the same results. You may have to add a bit more breadcrumbs in the end, though. In the sauce, I add a touch of lemon juice, vinegar and cayenne pepper to give it some zing. I serve the falafels with pita, sliced cucumber, tomato wedges and sauce. Absolutely adored by everyone, and I make, on average, once a week.

Vegetarian Link Gravy

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2009
This recipe far surpassed my expectations. I expected it to have the consistency of meat-based gravy, but to lack something in the flavor department. However, that is completely NOT the case. The only variation to the recipe I have made is using the vegetarian patties from Morningstar instead of the links. Once broken up and added to the gravy, you really would be surprised if you could find someone who could taste the difference between this and a meat-based sausage gravy.

Aloo Phujia

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2008
This recipe is very good, but I had to make some enhancements (based on the reviews here). I doubled all the spices except the salt and cayenne. I also added an 1/8 tsp of ground coriander seed (which probably could be bumped up to 1/4 tsp). To add some variety, I also included cauliflower, peas and carrots. I loved this variation and got rave reviews from the hungry (and picky!) crowd. This has been saved to my recipe box and I wouldn't be surprised if I'm asked to make this a couple of times a month.
