About this Cook
I like healthy yet good food.. :o) Generally I only eat white meat, unless its an awesome Alberta Beef steak!
My favorite things to cook
I like to cook.. I can't bake to safe my life though which means I'll never post a cake receipe!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Christmas and Thanksgiving with traditional home made gravy! Yum. Generally very English style cooking though. I acquired my more adventurous tastes living abroad.
My cooking triumphs
My African Curry and Cornish Game Hens stuffed with cranberry/orange dressing accompanied with a nutmeg/cinnamon gravy.
My cooking tragedies
Anything that involves the "BAKE" function of a stove.. broiling is usually done with moderate success.

Low-Fat Macaroni and Cheese
Ack.. Update: I did forget to mention that I too did not cook it for the full recommended time (Never do.. all ovens are different and I live at high altitude). I cooked this only for 30 minutes at 325F and stirred it once.

Hearty Breakfast Cookies
This is my newest FAVORITE! I started feeding my husband "breakfast" cookies last month... and just this week got around to trying this recipe. Simply Awesome. Only changes: Added nutmeg and upped the cinnamon and I substituted 1 cup dried cranberries for the raisins which I soaked for 10 minutes before adding.

Jumbo Breakfast Cookies
Bwhahaha... these are the perfect undercover cookie ever! I almost feel guilty when my husband sneaks one extra before we leave for work in the mornings! A few changes I made was whole wheat flour, subbed 1 cup brown sugar for white, added some cinnamon/nutmeg, omitted the "cereal rings" and made them with dried cranberries rather than raisins. Next time I'll try them with reduced butter and add in some applesauce or a banana...
