Since I am single and my children are all grown. I love simple and quick meals . I have many other things to do besides cook. But on cold weekend I make homemade soup or bake some fresh bread.

I love to grill meats add a green salad to that and you have a meal.
My favorite family cooking traditions
The three holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years are rotated in my family but most of the time it goes like this but here is what is special:
Thanksgiving: Turkey,dressing, my mom's macaroni and cheese, salad and rolls, sweet potato pie
Christmas: Prime Rib or Ham, rice stuffing, salad, rolls, apple pie and chocolate cake.
New Years: Ham, Greens,Black eye pea and rice, carrot cake and lot of wine
My cooking triumphs
When I got my moms macaroni and cheese just right.
My first grilled Turkey, cooked complete, juicy and did not burn
Egg bread from scratch: came out perfect (took 5 tries though)
My cooking tragedies
My first turkey in a roasting bag: so bad the dog didn't even eat it.
angle food cake: flat!!! Could never get this one right
My try at making fudge: one big mess
