I recently got married and am striving to show my husband new and interesting recipes. I have already turned him onto my "famed" Fried Red Cabbage. He refused to even try it until he smelled how good it was and fell in love it.
My favorite things to cook
I love baking and making sweet treats.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I grew up with my Grandmother and Aunt who made it tradition to make Christmas an extravagant holiday in terms of food. We used to make peanut brittle, english toffee, fudge, and all sorts of other cookies and candies. I loved holidays that revolve around food.
My cooking triumphs
While living with my brother when we were both in our early twenties we didn't make much money and I put together a dish that we fell in love with. I remember we only had chicken in the freezer and not much in the fridge but I was able to make a southwest chicken bake with the few things we had in the house.
My cooking tragedies
I am striving to be a great baker like my Grandmother and Aunt who raised me. I am consistantly making things that they would make and they just don't turn out good at all. Some people don't mind how things turn out but those are the ones that never tried my grandma's food.
