About this Cook
wife, mother, teacher, gardener--always up for a good book, always trying to get back in shape! dog lover-like emails -baby boomer-
My favorite things to cook
soups, ethnic foods and always looking for fun foods to try at our dinner club--i like to try and replicate (and improve on) foods that i like at a restaurant
My favorite family cooking traditions
we had some lithuanian dishes growing up that are special to me--and i make biscotti (sp?) every winter with a friend--we make several different kinds and package them pretty for christmas gifts--it is a day of baking and hanging out together--we take turns at each others house
My cooking triumphs
macaroni and cheese--i think i make it pretty good and so i like to bring to pot luck

Onion Tart
i was told how to make this tart except the one change was to use a variety of onions--red, sweet, green, shallot, leek etc---and to always make sure to include a sweet onion--also to add a little shredded cheese--swiss or parmasan would be good i think

Gobi Aloo (Indian Style Cauliflower with Potatoes)
very good--i didn't have a sweet potato but otherwise followed the directions and really liked it a lot--i sprinkled a little chopped cilantro on top--
