About this Cook
I have always loved cheesecakes so when I was 12 I began collecting cookbooks for these and the experiments began! I became pretty good and then ventured on to other things to cook. Now I really enjoy trying new recipes and testing them out with my family.
My favorite things to cook
I like to make pasta and other Italian dishes with different combinations, I also like to try baking dishes for family functions and potlucks, It's very satisfying to have the "hit" dish that gets rave reviews.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mother used to always make goulash so this all too simple dish is still one of my favorite comfort foods I always make when I just can't decide what's for dinner.
My cooking triumphs
I love cheesy scalloped potatoes and made them so many different ways but after dozens of tries I feel I finally have them perfected, I am always asked to bring them to parties, and my kids love them too!
My cooking tragedies
I have had soo many failed attempts, and still do occasionally have disasters but I think you just mess up to learn another cooking lesson, my husband just laughs and says, well, it was a good effort..

Spinach Quiche
I tried to make this with canned spinach because I needed it to go in something and it was really bad. I am sure that this would be really tasty with the frozen or fresh so I just wanted to warn anyone before they tried this not to do what I did, I wasted some groceries!! All the other ingredients seemed to be good though, especially the cottage cheese.

Shrimp and Feta Cheese Pasta
I loved this recipe, I have already made it twice, I followed some others advice and used fresh herbs instead of dried. I also added black olives since my family loves them and added extra wine. Very wonderful!!!

Butternut Squash Supreme
This was a pretty good recipe to use if you had extra squash lying around like I did. I omitted the onions and took someone elses suggestion of adding brown sugar to the topping, which was crushed corn flakes instead of crackers. It was really good! Nice change from mashed potatoes.
