Cranberry Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2009
Having read the reviews and what the submitter Sarah says about dried cranberries also being good in this, I think the recipe means to use fresh chopped cranberries. If you do then you get quite a lot of moisture from them and the cookies do spread. I have also used dried cranberries and then I add a splash or two of milk and they are fine. The mix with the fresh cranberries is more tart. Hope this helps.

Chocolate Banana Bread

This was wonderful! I didn't have choc chips so cut up a dark chocolate bar. The only problem with this was the pieces were bigger than chips and most sank to the bottom. Still great though. Thanks :-)

Incredibly Cheesy Turkey Meatloaf

Wonderful recipe. I used rolled oats with my own Italian herbs and some garlic as I didn't have Italian breadcrumbs. Still fantastic. Loved the melted cheese pools inside the loaf. YUM.

Three-Bean Salsa

This is very tasty! I used red kidney beans, chick peas and pinto beans (didn't have black beans). Also didn't have jalapeno peppers so used chilli powder and a red bell pepper. Was still awesome. Thanks.

Mini Orange Mince Pies

These were fantastic! Great flavour with the pastry. I also topped some with a streusel topping (one I use for blueberry muffins on this site) and that was good too as it complimented the cinnamon in the pastry. All eaten very quickly!

Made this to go with lamb on boxing day. The flavours really complemented each other. I love garlic and roasting it this way before adding to the mash is very tasty. Thanks for the recipe, everyone loved it!

My son hates sprouts but ate a large helping of this at Christmas lunch! It really does make the sprouts tasty. Thanks for a great recipe.

Berry Trifle

Served this as dessert on Chrismas Day. Out of this world! Did sub condensed milk for whipping cream as we don't like condensed milk sweetness. Was still good on 3rd day! Great recipe.

Old Fashioned Pound Cake II

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2008
I wanted a pound cake as base for the berry trifle recipe on this site, so omitted the lemon, kept everything else the same. This was wonderful and held up very well for 3 days in the trifle! The remaining cake was great on it's own too! Thanks for sharing.

Cheddar Biscuit Cups

I didn't read the reviews before I made these and used paper muffin cups. They did not want to let go! However, the flavour was good and they were not bad the following day, also easier to get out of the paper for some reason! Thanks for the recipe. Will make again but grease the tins next time!

Slow Cooker Root Vegetable Tagine

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2008
I halved the amount of vegetables (used sweet potatoes as I didn't have turnips)but left everything else the same except I added salt. I also added some diced chuck steak. Only took 7 hours in my slow cooker. The result was delicious, a sort of Moroccan 'curry'. YUM. Thanks for sharing.

The Original All-Bran® Muffins

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2008
I made these for my sister who isn't allowed fat due to illness. I replaced the oil with applesauce, and the egg with egg 2 egg whites, as suggested, and added some raisins and dried cranberries. They were a bit bland for me but she liked them as she hasn't had any 'cake' products for 3 months now and is really fed up! Thanks for sharing.

Crustless Cranberry Pie

Made exactly as recipe (despite the other reviews) and it came out wonderfully. However, I WAS the only one to really like it, as everyone else thought the cranberries were too tart a taste. I WILL make this again using blueberries as the almond pudding was absolutely delicious! Thanks for sharing.

I scaled this way down for a family Sunday lunch with roast lamb, minted peas and baby leeks. The only thing I did differently was to add in some sweet potatoes and about 4 cloves of garlic. We loved it! Thanks for the recipe.

These are great! I have never made sugar cookies before, as I am English, but they rolled out and baked perfectly. I iced some and dipped some in chocolate. YUM! I only used half the mix and froze the other half for later. Thanks for sharing such a lovely recipe.
