Used 2 c white sugar and 1 c brown like others suggested, and then added chocolate chips. Delicious!

Sugar Cookies

Absolutely delicious! I didn't have shortening so I substituted with butter and they turned out just fine. Make sure you roll the cookies into TINY balls, these cookies get huge otherwise.

Chicken and Dumplings III

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2009
Really really good! I tweaked it like everyone else- I sauteed some onions and garlic, and carrots in a ton of butter, and then added chicken broth instead of water. I used one can of cream of chicken and one of cream and celery, and I added fresh chives and thyme to my bisquick drop dumplings. The boyfriend loves this dish in general and claimed this recipe was really good. Next time I may add some diced potato and celery, and experiment with more herbs- maybe add chives, thyme, and rosemary to the broth, or maybe some dill. Very very good the way it is though!!!

Slow Cooker Beef Stew & Dumplings

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2009
I know I submitted this, but I have to admit was really surprised how well it turned out, but after everything reduced and melded together over the hours, it was amazingly delicious. The boyfriend is not a fan of beef stew and ate it for 2 days!

Twice Baked Potatoes I

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2009
I cut out the milk and substituted sour cream, and used about 4 oz habanero jack cheese in place of the cheddar. Also added some green onion. Mixed all the "pulp" and ingredients together until relatively smooth and threw in the oven like directed. Lots of flavor! My boyfriend couldn't stop eating them :)

Scalloped Potatoes II

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2009
Good starting off point. I added sour cream, a can of cream of mushroom soup, and cut the milk down about enough to cover the entire dish after adding the other ingredients. also i layered cheddar cheese between the potatos. next time i might add parmesan and bread crumbs to the top to get a nice crust.

Washabinaros Chili

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2009
really good chili. it is indeed greasy if you don't drain the meat, so next time i will do that. also i think next time i would use only half the amount of coffee and broth, it was too soupy and i had to use cornstarch to thicken it back up.

Cheese Stuffed Mushroom Appetizer

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2008
I have made these twice now and my boyfriend loves them- he doesn't even like mushrooms! I like to add half a cup of italian breadcrumbs to my stuffing and sprinkle parmesan cheese on top as well. Yummy! :)
