About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
I love to make anything sweet!
My favorite family cooking traditions
We fry our turkey for Thanksgiving and we also have two pies: a French Silk pie and a pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving. At Christmas we have a roast "who" beast ( "who" from How the Grinch Stole Christmas ) and at Easter we have ham with raisin sauce.
My cooking triumphs
I'm good at making a "press in the pan" pie crust
My cooking tragedies
I'm not very good at making yeast breads! I made a meatloaf pie and you had to drain it. I tried to drain it in the sink and most of the meat fell into soapy water! My mom and I salvaged it and put it back in and baked it some more. It turned out fine so we didn't tell my dad!

Mom's Chocolate Chip Cookies
Before I made these I read the reviews on them like I do for all recipes I want to make. One reviewer said that she used 1/2 c butter instead of 1 c and that they were still moist without all of the fat. I don't know what I did wrong there, but that definately did not work for me. Sometimes you cannot make things with less fat. So the second time, I used the whole cup of butter and a 1/2 t of salt and they were delicious! By the way does anyone know what would happen if you used the cook n serve instead of the instant?

Fudgy Brownie Cookies
Chewy, moist, fudgy, and delicious! Perfect is an understatement! Make sure not to overbake.
