I am a a married mother of three children. My son is 6, my daughters are 5 and 4. My husband and children are my world and I've been fortunate enough to stay home with my kids. I am a homebody and love the fact that I married a man who enjoys family time as much as I do.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake! Any type of cookie, coffee cake and biscotti are my all time favorite things to make. I enjoy a good casserole as well. My children are challenges. My son, especially is a very picky eater and I have to get creative with what I cook to make sure he eats well.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Christmas cookies with my Grandma, cranberry nut bread with my mom but I've been working hard with my husband the last few years to set our own holiday and family traditions. We don't eat turkey at Thanksgiving, we have prime rib. We still have pumpkin pie but I've modified the recipe to give it my own personal touch.
My cooking triumphs
Generally I'm pretty adept at whatever I try. But I was really nervous to try a biscotti recipe, even though I love biscotti with my coffee. I followed the recipe to the letter and am pleased to announce that it turned out as good as the name brand coffee shop's version.
My cooking tragedies
I've had some pretty bad ones. When I first started baking a lot I burned a cake so badly it set off the smoke alarm! I was 12 or 13 at the time and had forgotten to turn the oven from preheat to bake. Never have made that mistake again!
