I cut my teeth on the food service business years ago. Will never do it again. Everyone keeps telling me to start a catering business but its not fun as a job.
I write programs for mid size companies now. I love computers. I also have started training horses within the last year.
My favorite things to cook
I love 1 - 2 pot meals. Its just me at home so I find it a waste to cook whole meals just for me. Besides who has time or wants to be on their feet after working with 800 lbs of horse for 3 hours?
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family is from the south but moved to Montana as a kid back in the day when you walked in a store looking for okra and got blank looks from the store manager. Learned to love vegetables that still had a crunch from the north but love cornbread from the south.
My cooking triumphs
Chocolate soufflés by age 16. Also baking apple pies in my mom's cast iron skillet. (should have seen her face!) Still do that to this day.
My cooking tragedies
Lost my touch with biscuits. will have to do some serious work to get it back.
