Having made this recipe countless times, I think I've learned a few tricks and variations that might seem useful. You can either have the cereal be evenly coated by eliminating the butter from the recipe, making the chocolate mixture very smooth which easily coats the cereal evenly. Or you can add the butter and microwave for 1 1/2 min. (added about 1/2 to 3/4 cups crunchy peanut butter), which turns the mixture into a more solid than liquidy. It coats the cereal, but it clumps pieces together, creating these wonderful little clumps of chocolate and cereal. Also if you use crunchy peanut butter the little peanut buts get covered in powdered sugar and fall to the bottom of the bag--excellent. In addition to using more confectioners' sugar (about half a bag), another variation is to add peanut butter M & M's! You can also use both milk chocolate and semisweet chips. It makes it less of a bitter semi-sweet taste, or even use hershey kisses and semisweet chips!
