Great recipe, I used all purpose flour, and it tasted great. I used chopped dates bought from the bulk store. They worked out just fine. No messy prep. Worth the little extra cost, with no change in taste.

This recipe was too gingery (is that a real word?), and the snap was too snappy (I know thats a real word).

These are the best oatmeal cookies I have ever made. A huge hit with my husband, I too found that my first batch did stick a wee bit to the cookie sheet, but, then I used parchment paper on the cookie sheet, and cooked them one minute less, they were great, didn't stick to the paper, and no messy cookie sheet!! they get 5 stars from me
