About this Cook
Hey everyone! I am a young cooking mama, and Im looking forward to great recipes and extending my knowledge!
My favorite things to cook
I like to go 'au piff' as we say here in Quebec. That basically means no measuring cups, spoons, just your instincts. So when I make meats (which is what I enjoy most) I love adding herbs and spices that either arent included in the recipe, or substitution for something people havent tried out. It almost always turns out excellent, and
My favorite family cooking traditions
When Christmas time comes, my grandmother makes all these delicious familly recipes, and I have just recently learnt the great familly secrets. Wonderful memories.
My cooking triumphs
The first supper I made for my fiancée`s family. I was always taught that another woman's kitchen is her sanctuay, and to never show your boyfriend's mother that you cook better than her. So the first time they let me cook, I was very nervous. And as they... arent very adept at cooking, they had NO HERBS AND SPICES. I had to run to my house to get everything,a nd back again. But the pork roast was a success!!
My cooking tragedies
Thefirst time I made grilled cheese, I thought you had to grill the cheese, without bread... *groaaan*

Easy Apple Cinnamon Muffins
These muffins have the basis for excellent taste. 1 apple is plenty, double the cinnamon, and use only 1/4 cup butter for the topping, or else you will have a gooey mess. I also halfed the sugar into white/brown portions.

Apple Muffins
These are AWESOME! The only changes I made was to double the amount of apples and cinnamon, halfed the amount of white sugar and added brown sugar and substituted the oil for applesauce for a wham-apple-flavor-filled muffin!

Best Moist Chocolate Cake
I was a little wary at first, it seemed you either loved or hated this cake. I made minor adjustments (added 1/2 cup sugar, 1/2 tsp of vanilla, and 1 tbsp cocoa) and... it turned out absolutely fabulous! The batter itself was very thick and tasted perfect, but when baked it was moist, high, and delicious! I highly reccomend!
