I recently started cooking for 2 (just got married) and I'm loving it. It works well for me because I LOVE to bake and cook and my hubby's not a very picky eater. So far he hasn't disliked anything I've made, and his family is VERY happy that I enjoy baking desserts and such as they get some too.
My favorite things to cook
Desserts, all kinds. My specialties are probably apple pie, any kind of cheesecake, and chocolate-raspberry avalanch cake. I also love steak, usually just a flat iron seasoned up or with some jack danials original no. 7, but I love experimenting with new seasonings. I also make great garlic mashed potatoes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Well I recently got my mom's apple sauce recipe along with my grammy's apple crisp and her oh-so-good home made mac and cheese. Also my dad makes this delicious food that he just calls chinese things. No real name for them but they're great!
My cooking triumphs
I recently made pretty much the best steak that I have ever made and was extreamly happy. Another was probably the first time I made a soufle, it came out so well!
My cooking tragedies
One time I decided to get creative with seasoning, like I always do. Unfortunately I must have had a brain lapse because I tried using some mint extract on minute steaks. It wasn't as horrible as you would think, but still ew.
