We love Mexican food. This is now a new family favorite. I could not make the fast enough. The only changes I made was adding our favorite hot sauce, using cheddar (because that is what I had) and I cooked them in a pan with non-stick cooking spray.

I made this with homemade applesauce. I also played with the recipe some by adding my favorite hot sauce. I also decreased the sugar. The mix of hot and sweet was dead on! I used lime juice and red wine vinegar because I did not have lemon juice. I put this on meat taken off a pork shoulder that I had roasted. It was excellent.

I made this with local York apples. I didn't find it to be overly sweet at all. I also increased the cinnamon (personal preference). This apple sauce was excellent, everyone in the house loved it. I also used it in a BBQ sauce recipe...it was perfect. Can't wait to make it again.
