Picante Black Bean Hummus

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2011
This is a good base recipe. The only seasoning comes from the picante sauce and the lime. I spent a lil time doctoring it up after it was made to get it to pop for me and my husband. What I did was add in sourcream, red pepper flakes, cumin, sea salt, cheese and tabasco. I then warmed it up a lil bit... and that made it pop for us. If I had some jalapeno I would have chopped that up to add more texture. I willl make this again, but with the above modifications to serve on the Frito Scoopers. I hope that this helps the next person.

Cha Cha's White Chicken Chili

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2010
Very nice flavor and tasty. I had wanted to try out the “White Chili” for some time and this was a simple and easy recipe. The only thing that I would do different is cut down the amount of red pepper. Not because I don’t like the heat, but that the red pepper detracted from the awesome taste of the chili in my opinion. I think ½ tsp. of cayenne will be just perfect. Will definitely make this again! Thanks for the recipe!

15-Minute Dinner Nachos Supreme

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2010
Easy, easy, easy… What more can a person say? Oh, Yummy! I had made a few modifications, but nothing so major to detract from the recipe. First change I used the taco seasoning from http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Taco-Seasoning-I/Detail.aspx (Ever since I first used that recipe I never buy the packets). Second change was I cooked the rice in my rice cooker separately, 1-cup rice and 2 cups water. Third change was I used a cup of habanera salsa that my manager made, and it was perfect! She uses fresh ingredients straight from her garden. Will definitely make this again!

Boilermaker Tailgate Chili

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2010
Nice flavor, it really hit the spot :) Thanks for an awesome recipe! Followed the recipe almost verbatim, only changes I made were I had no bacon bits, and we wanted a more soupy chili so added a family size can of Campbell's Tomato Soup along with a small can of diced green chilis with 2 diced jalapeno peppers deveined and deseeded.

Broccoli Beef I

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2010
I give the reviewers that posted their changes 5 stars, the basic recipe I will give 3 stars since by itself it seems mediocre. Based on other suggestions I changed the recipe: beef broth (10 oz), 1 tbsp brown sugar, 1 tbsp dark soy sauce, 1 tbsp soy sauce, ½ tsp ground ginger, 2 cloves minced garlic, ¼ tsp red pepper flakes, ½ cup chopped green onion, and ½ tsp black pepper, stirring together with the ¼-cup flour. The gravy was good. Next time I make will have to remember to take a picture to share!

So easy to make! My husband and I love it! Made as is, I did have to beat the butter and sugar for a long time to avoid the grainy texture. Definitly a keeper!

Taco Seasoning I

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2010
No more Lawry's taco seasoning for me, which was the taco seasoning to go to. But for the last year I have been using this seasoning blend and we love it. I alternate at times on the red pepper flakes because it does have a bit of kick to it. Definite keeper in my house!

Stuffed Green Peppers I

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2010
I made this recipe tonight. I gave the recipe 4 stars, but only because I made the following changes to the recipe. I sautéed the onion, and beef with 1tbsp minced garlic. I put in ½-cup water, one can tomato soup, 1tbsp beef bouillon, 1-cup rice, 1tbsp Worchester, 1tbsp of pre mixed Italian seasoning and 1 tbsp of basil. For the diced tomatoes, I used Italian seasoned diced tomatoes. I then let simmer for about 20 minutes stirring to avoid sticking. My husband does not like cheese, so I divided the stuffing. Some I did w/out the cheese, and a couple I did with. Both tasted very good, and my husband said, “It’s a keeper”. That is good for me! Happy cooking!

Nice and easy recipe to follow. I posted a picture. This was my first time attempting a cheesecake, and I feel pleased with the results. Ready to make another! Hopefully the next time I wont over beat the cheese filling and have another cracked top.

This was an awesome dish:) Even my husband was happy with it and he is not a big pork person. I made the recipe as is so could rate it based on the recipe. It was yum, but for my husbands personal prefrence we will use 1 tbsp of the caraway seed next time :)

Quick and Easy Chicken Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2008
very nice and easy recipe. I made a couple of modifications based on my busy schedule during the Christmas holidays. I used uncooked chicken breasts and cooked it in the slow cooker. The last half hour I put in the noodles. My husband who was outside shoveling snow during our huge winter snow storm really appreciated having an awesome soup on hand to warm up with! Oh, one other thing I changed... I put in the chicken broth and instead of a vegetable broth, I put in a can of cream of chicken since we like a creamier soup. I may put just a tad bit a pepper in it as well since both he and I like a more peppery flavor. However, I felt that it was just perfect :)

Holiday Cranberry Chutney

The flavor was just wonderful. Even the children loved the flavor. What I did was spread some spreadable regular cream cheese over a cinnamon graham cracker and then dolloped the chutney on top of that. I could not keep any due to it being a hit!! Will definitly make this again and again!

Baked Spaghetti Squash with Beef and Veggies

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2008
Easy to make. I am new to cooking/eating Spaghetti Squash, but my co-workers loved it. My husband was iffy. I changed out the sharp cheddar cheese though for an Italian Blend, and topped with a Montery/Colby Jack Blend. My co worker said, "It tastes a lot like pizza, but is good for you!". What fun!
