My cooking tragedies
Even though I had been cooking for over 10 years at the time, I burnt the very first dinner I made for my husband after we were married. It was so bad I had to open windows and crack open the door to stop the fire alarm in our apartment! He came home to my cat sticking his nose out the cracked front door trying to breathe fresh air!

Pecan Pie
I didn't have any problems with this pie, and I'm not an experienced pecan pie baker. Very nice texture and flavor! I followed the advice of leaving it in the turned off oven for about 20 minutes. I was worried that it still jiggled too much even then, but my husband told me that pecan pies will firm up after cooling. He was right and the pie was the perfect consistency!

Fruity Curry Chicken Salad
Add me to list of people who served it and got multiple requests for the recipe! I did dried cranberries instead of golden raisins since it was for a holiday party. I then left out the apple just because the cranberries seemed to add enough fruitiness with the grapes. I didn't really measure the mayonnaise, just added to taste. Thanks for a yummy chicken salad!

Savory Deviled Eggs
I was looking for an updated version of deviled eggs to serve at a retro party. These were a huge hit! I chose this recipe because I don't like mustard, and this had less than many recipes. These eggs ran out quickly at my party and I got lots of great comments about them. I was just sorry I didn't make more!
