About this Cook
Jobs: Wife, Mom of two teenage boys, Supervisor of my 80 year old Mom (Dad doesn't require this yet - Go Dad!), Daughter in Law, Chauffeur (mom and kids), Web Designer, Short Order Cook, Head Chef High School Basketball Snack Bar, NFL Fan, NBA Fan, High School Sports Fanatic
My favorite things to cook
Anything made from scratch. My Dad was an awesome cook and I was definately inspired by watching him cook when I was a kid. He used to make this awesome Chow Mein from scratch.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Chex Mix, Christmas Cookies, Thanksgiving Day Drama
My cooking triumphs
Healthy Cinnamon Rolls, My Infamous Chocolate Chip Pancakes (also healthy, but kids don't know it - he, he, when not camping, this is a Sunday morning ritual), My Chili recipe (my husband and I collaborated on that)
My cooking tragedies
My last batch of beer, I haven't tried again, but it's time. Also, I've dabbled in making soda pop, I've had some real flops and exploding root beer....

Best Peanut Sauce
You could add some additional things to this sauce, but I made exactly per the recipe with only one exception - I used red pepper flakes (1/2 tsp.) instead of pepper sauce and it was fantastic with chicken satay. The whole family loved it.

Slow Cooker Pulled Pork
I made this for our basketball team's snack bar, it was a big hit. I made my own "Memphis" style barbeque sauce and served on buns with cole slaw. Everyone loved it!

Chicken Marsala with Portobello Mushrooms
This is a really great recipe, but I had to tweak it a bit to my family's liking. We love Macaroni Grill's version and this was close. I ended up doubling the amount of boullion and Marsala (sauce was too thick and to make more sauce) and browned about 12 garlic gloves, some sliced, some whole (they way they do at the Grill). When I tasted the sauce, it was missing something. I added about 3 T of honey to sweeten it up a bit, it worked! Family loved it. Also, to speed things up, I was browning the chicken while cooking the sauce.
