Personal Bridal Shower Cookies
About this Cook
Growing up my family owned a restaurant and later my mother was a self employed baker. So, I decided to master cooking about 10 years ago (as my mother has done), just hasn't happened yet! I have 7 brothers & sisters with children of their own and 4 children myself and we all love to eat! Each family member has their specialties and I'm always on the look for something new and different.
My favorite things to cook
I really love to bake sweets, like cookies, bars, pies, and cheese cakes! I love meals that you can prepare, freeze, then pop in the oven when in a hurry. I guess traditional American food is what I cook most, but Chinese Food is my favorite.
My favorite family cooking traditions
That would be something my dad came up with at out restaurant, called cheaters, because our restaurant was next to weight watchers and many would come in to cheat on their diet. A special dough, sausage, and cheese put together just the right way! I haven't came across them anywhere else!
My cooking triumphs
I've managed to make an awesome cheesecake and some great side dishes that are staples during the holidays! I also do really well making cookies.
My cooking tragedies
Um...I once used "cool whip" or whipped cream instead of heavy whipping cream in a recipe for Thanksgiving years ago, but everyone was nice and ate the melting lopsided cake anyways.

Gourmet Sweet Potato Classic
After making these, I now love sweet potatoes!! They were quickly gone at our Thanksgiving dinner. I can't wait to make these again for Christmas dinner. I reduced the white sugar slightly (1/3 cup) and used 7 potatoes. They were still sweet and perfect with the brown sugar topping.I plan to increase the pecans and topping next time. I'm going to use glazed pecans...yum!

Robbi's M&M Cookies
Not my type of cookie, but my 4 kids like them. They are a little salty, so reducing salt is a good tip. I cooked mine without reading reviews...knew better. They are crisp and oily. I used mini m&ms and they stay in the batter with no problem. I'm more of a chewy cookie person, so this will be my last time making these. I'd rate 3 stars if my kids wouldn't have said otherwise.

Brownie Mallow Bars
Most important TIP: let the marshmallows cool before pouring the chocolate mixture on! If the marshmallows are warm you cannot spread the thick chocolate layer very easily and they will not be pretty. 2 Tip: Cook your brownies however you like them...fudge-like (my kind), cake-like, crunchy...it is whatever makes YOU happy. 3 Tip: If you like more of a creamy marshmallow layer use marshmallow cream. If you like more of a soft chewy layer (my preference) use reg marshmallows. EVERYONE loved these and they were super easy! I refrigerated mine for 2-3 hours and had no problem cutting them strait out of the fridge. The fudge brownie, chewy marshmallow, and crunchy top remind me of the different textures you find in candy bars...yum! My large family loves sweets so we had no problem finishing them off. They are sweet, but isn't that the point :o) Enjoy!!
