Born in Cajun Country and cook Cajun French Types of recipes. Area famous
for Gumbo, Jambayala, Crawfish, Shrimp, Soft Shell Crabs, Frog Legs, and
some fabulous desserts. Married to a man from Tennessee so I learned some
of their styles and he cooks some of the South's greats.
My favorite things to cook
Love Seafood (any type), Baby Back Ribs, Roasts (Beef or Pork), Vegetables,
Casseroles, Pies, Candies, and some Cakes. Any types of food that balance a healthy lifestyle.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Always make pecan pralines, heavenly hash candy, divinity fudge, peanut
brittle, sweet potato bread, small pecan pies before Thanksgiving for
family and give these out to neighbors for Christmas.
Enjoy the dirty rice dressing and also cornbread dressing during the holidays. Always cook cabbage rolls and blackeye peas for the New Year.
My cooking triumphs
Famous for my small pecan pies. Have never entered any contests or any
cooking shows for prizes.
My cooking tragedies
The worse experience was a pie I made in an RV oven when I was having
company. When I went to get the pie out, it folded in the middle and
fell all over. Needless to say, we had to spoon the remains out for
whatever we could salvage.
