I just moved to Seattle after graduating college. I began cooking to feed my boyfriend and I without going out every night. It's fun to find less expensive ways to create delicious meals. My mother made delicious homemade meals when I was growing up, so I began with the recipes I could remember and made some of my own as well. My father has always been a wonderful baker. Between the two of them, I feel I have a wide range of abilities. Bagels, cupcakes, spaghetti sauce, bread, tomato-basil soup and grilled cheese My father made a delicious dessert he called Chi Chi Cat, I will someday post a recipe. My mother and father both made wonderful spaghetti sauce and garlic bread. My dad's lemon cookies still blow my friends away. Bagels! After only one try, I made some delicious bagels that looked good enough to be in a bakery window. My boyfriend was utterly amazed, as was I. They are very fun to make and very rewarding. I always use too much icing. I love anything with solid sugar in it, but my opinion is not always shared by my audiences.
