Microwave Apple Crisp

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2007
I NEVER cook in the microwave (well...maybe popcorn), I only use it to warm things. My 13 year daughter has recently started baking, came across this recipe, thought it sounded easy, and gave it a try. It was WONDERFUL! I can't believe it's cooked in the microwave. The best part is that SHE can whip it up for me with no problem when we have company coming over!

Orange Glaze for Ham

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2007
We really liked this. It was mild, but added just the right of tangy sweetness to our ham. I grilled ham steaks on the grill, and brushed them with this a couple of times towards the end of grilling. Super simple...will use on ham again!

This was good...a nice change from the usual meatloaf. The family said to make it again some time and that they'd "give it four stars."

Chicken and Dumplings III

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2006
Yum! By the time I served this, the recipe listed here was a mere spec of what I ended up with, but it is a perfect foundation to do with whatever you want! Here's what I did, some of it per other reviews, and some of it on my own. I simmered the chicken in chicken broth mixed with water and chicken bullion cubes. To the broth I added parsley, cracked peppercorn, minced onion, four or five bay leaves and a pinch of garlic powder. I used a can of cream of celery soup and a can of cream of chicken soup. I added diced canned potatoes, fresh carrots and celery, fresh minced garlic, frozen peas a little more onion and more pepper. I made my own biscuits using biscuit mix and milk. To the dough I added basil, parsley and a pinch of pepper. IT WAS SO YUMMY that my 11-year old announced that she could eat it every day for the rest of her life!!! Hubby and other daughter loved it too! Definitely cook the biscuits longer...I cooked mine for 10 minutes with the lid and 10 minutes without the lid! You can't screw this up! Give it a try...I bet your gang will love it too!

Baked Corn II

This was a great change from plain old corn! It's very easy, extremely handy, and it tastes comforting and delicious! Why, you ask, did I only give it four stars...because I like to give five stars to truly amazing dishes, but don't get me wrong...you won't be sorry to give this a try!

Hi Everybody! These were good, and you'll not be sorry to make them, but I didn't think they were amazing. I would make them again...they're yummy, but I wouldn't run out for pudding mix to make them.

Justin's Hoosier Daddy Chili

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2005
This is great stuff! I doubled the recipe right off the bat because it sounded really good! My whole family loved it, and has decided that it is our new chili recipe! It appears really liqudiy while cooking, but it ends up perfect once it reaches the bowl! I followed the recipe to a TEE, but skipped any additional ceyanne...next time I will add just a bit! If you're on the fence, try it! I think you'll be pleased!

Beer Butt Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2005
Very good! Very easy! Followed the recipe completely, but got some imput along the way. Here's what the nice man at Kroger said: He just takes any old empty can and fill it with a ready-made marinade. In his opinion, this makes it more flavorful! Next time, I plan to fill a can with chicken broth, garlic and other spices. Hope it's as delicious!!!
