About this Cook
My name is Scott and am the father of two great kids. I have been cooking since I was 14 and I do all the cooking for my family and I have a great time teaching my kids to help and how things work in the kitchen. My wonderful wife Melinda is a wizard with baking and makes just the best cookies and homemade peanut brittle at Christmas time. Thanks and enjoy!
My favorite things to cook
I love cooking with boneless chicken on the stovetop and on the grill. I love modifying other recipes for my tastes, but mostly so my kids will eat it. Don't have much luck with the young one, but the preteen is starting to eat everything! My biggest ambitions are to be a wizard at sauce making, right now I am just a court jester, but I keep trying!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Making pizzas, fantastic gravies for turkeys and top round roasts and cooking absolutely anything on the grill or over a campfire.
My cooking triumphs
My biggest triumph was having a 4th of July picnic with over 100 of my family and friends over. I had three grills going and managed to stuff everyone with burgers, hot dogs, and brats. All of course, with toasted buns, grilled Vidalia patties and foil sauteed peppers, all on the grill!
My cooking tragedies
I have burnt many a fine meals but my biggest tragedy was the first Thanksgiving for my wife's parents. I insisted on grilling the turkey and the first problem was the turkey was too big for the grill. The cover rested right on top of the turkey. Then about 5 hours into it, the charcoal was going out and the turkey was not done and we had to somehow get it in from the grill to the oven. Sometime later we finally ate, but I still don't think that turkey was ever done. What a mess!

BBQ Pork for Sandwiches
This is a great and simple recipe for pulled pork. I use a 6-7 pound pork shoulder and coat with ando chiles as a seasoning. Super tasty!

Spinach Stuffed Chicken Breasts
Very good recipe, love the taste of the spinach and I added sliced portabellas to my version. Portabellas add a healthy way to fill you up.
