I was always known as the one who couldn't cook, mostly because I never cooked. But now everyone is always asking me to cook something for them.
My favorite things to cook
I like to experiment in the kitchen. But my all time favorite things to cook are Greek, Mexican & Soul Food
My favorite family cooking traditions
I grew up watching my grandmom cook. She is the best cook in the world to me. And one thing that we did together was make Christmas & graduation cookies together.
My cooking triumphs
My very first Thanksgiving. This was during the time that everyone thought I could not cook, well I fooled them all. I cooked a full course meal all by myself. My Aunt even thought that my grandmom actualy cooked some of the food I had. *update 12/30/08* My new triumph was making Chicken Marsala for the first time....I swear it was better than what I get a the restaurant.
My cooking tragedies
The first time I tried to fry chicken. It was all golden brown on the outside and raw on the inside! LOL. Another tragedy was the first time I made a sweet potato pie, I forgot to remove the wax paper from the pie crust. *12/28/08 Updtate* I tried to make my own alfredo sauce....It was beyond gross! It was like I had a bunch of milk with a playdough ball floating in it. LOL
