Jalapeno Poppers I

Don't change a thing, these are the best!! You can remove the white-ish rib and remove 99% of the heat or leave them in for some fun eating!

Buttery Soft Pretzels

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2009
I cannot over emphasize how great these pretzels are! The absolute best I've ever eaten. My only alternation is that I basted each pretzel with melted butter right out of the oven. I served mine with homemade mustard, cream cheese and pumpkin butter.

Chocolate Baklava

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2009
This is really good and super sweet! I used semi sweet baking chocolate and didn't really measure out the sugar and cinnamon and I used pecans and it was really good. I could have done without the orange juice in the syrup. I will definitely make again.

Crab Tartlets

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2009
These were good, but not great. They were more like mini quiches than anything else. The prep work was a little more intensive than I had anticipated because not one store in my town (not a small one) carried phyllo shells, only the dough, so I had to make my own shells. They are very pretty, but they look better than they taste.

Insanely Amazing Jalapeno Cheese Dip

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2009
I made this for my sissy's bridal shower and of all the fancy dishes I made, people went nuts for this. I did use fresh jalapenos instead of the canned and I added a can of artichoke hearts. So 5 stars and I will definitely make this again, and again!!

Grilled Jalapeno Tuna Steaks

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2009
This is one of my favorite ways to eat seafood; scallops, shrimp, any fish for that matter. I use this marinade for whatever fish ends up in my fish tacos- so good and I don't find it spicy, just very flavorful.

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2009
Wowza! This is comfort food at it's finest. The cook time was on point, but hedge your bets to the higher end. My only critique, however, prep time was slightly more than anticipated. Overall the audience was thrilled as was I.

Cucumbers in Sour Cream

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2009
I make this with seasoned rice wine vinegar and just about a teaspoon of sugar. I tried this one and it was a little too sweet. I think I'm just accustomed to my families version.

Grilled Mustard Potato Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2009
This recipe is a little too oily and the vinegar is over powering. I doctored the sauce by adding a pinch of sugar and adding more potatoes. This was good for a vegan dish, but not great.

These are soooo good! Be sure not to add any salt, the clams season it well enough. I served mine over some pasta with a sprinkling of parmesan cheese. A keeper fo sho!!

Microwave Lemon Curd

Reviewed: May 17, 2009
This is easy and delicious!! I cut this recipe by a third and didn't add any zest and this was amazing!! I didn't temper the egg and it was smooth and tart and not too sweet. It firmed up quite a bit after about an hour. I highly recommend this recipe.

Scalloped Potatoes I

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2009
This never cooked properly. 1/4" thick is WAY TOO THICK, the sauce was too thick and the flavor was bland. The picture shows paper thin potatoes with a nice sauce.

Hazelnut Crusted Halibut with Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2009
Delicious!! The crust on this halibut is so, so good! I loved the mashed potatoes because I love garlic, but some of you might want to cut down from 5 cloves, but if you love buttery, garlicy mashed potatoes with tender halibut you will love this recipe! This is my new favorite and I can't wait to try this out on other fish. Loved it!

Easier Chicken Marsala

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2009
Fantastico!! If you are looking for that chicken Marsala at your favorite restaurant, this is it! I prefer to quarter my mushrooms and the butter isn't necessary. I serve this up with sauteed broccoli and some angel hair pasta with marinara sauce. This is a family favorite!

Cranberry, Sausage and Apple Stuffing

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2009
The is the BEST stuffing recipe on the planet!! My sister and I always make a double batch as the recipe shows and sometimes a separate batch using TVP(textured vegetable protein)and vegetable broth instead of meat and chicken broth and people can't tell the difference. This is easy to make and sooo good!

Waffle Cookies II

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2009
Not a lot of flavor. I followed the suggestions and added extra cocoa powder, but I think they could use some extra sugar. They were easy to make and very pretty in my heart shaped waffle iron, but I just didn't love them.

Best Ever Spinach Artichoke Dip

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2008
This recipe is very good. I added two cloves of fresh minced garlic to add some spice and flavor. This is my new "go to" spinach/artichoke dip. My sister says it tastes too "restauranty" and not homemade.

Chocolate Cappuccino Cheesecake

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2008
Very Rich! I made this for a coworkers birthday and I work with a bunch of chocoholics and they loved it! No one finished their slice, so I recommend thin slices of this cake. I followed the directions to a T with the exception that I doubled the amount of instant coffee and didn't add Kahlua. I didn't double the crust and it was fine as is. I did let the cake cool in the oven with the door open for 45 minutes and I only had one very small insignificant crack- which is irrelevant with the whipped cream topping. This cheesecake was too rich for me, but I still recommend this to chocolate lovers.

Jalapeno Chicken II

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2008
Bland and boring- I know it seems crazy considering the bacon and the jalapeños, but it was. I took the suggestions and minced up the jalapeños and added some cheddar cheese to the mix. That part was really tasty, I added a dash of garlic powder to that too. I baked the chicken wrapped in 2 strips of bacon at 350' for 35 minutes on a cooling rack on top of a cookie sheet to keep the bacon from getting soggy, and the chicken came out moist, but my husband and I both took a few bites and abandoned it. It was lacking in flavor and despite our best efforts the bacon didn't seemed cooked thoroughly on the bottom. I won't even attempt to make this again.

Slow Cooker Carnitas

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2008
I made this recipe with the suggestion to double up on the spices except for the cinnamon, but the cinnamon really ruined this recipe and it was too salty for my taste. I liked the other spices and will make again using water and absolutely no cinnamon.
