This is how I always make my mashed potatoes amd it's always great. I love reading other's changes when they make a review, in fact I usually will incorporate one or two of them, if it sounds good to me. It's one of the joys of cooking!

Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread

This was quite delicious, and I was looking for something that would turn out great since I have never made cornbread from scratch. I have to say that I will try other recipes too. Try putting dried cranberries in this before you bake it, just enough to have a good sprinkle through the mix... you won't regret it!

Cocktail Meatballs

I know the reveiws on these are highly rated, however I don't understand what the fuss is about. I have several other meatball crockpot recipes that top this. I was hoping for a more distinctive taste, but this was a little mediocre.

Red Velvet Cupcakes

This is a great recipe, easy, great tasting, and it comes out perfectly every time I make it. I have made it at least five times, and am just now rating it. I think that's a compliment!

Slow Cooker Lasagna

Well, I had high hopes but this didn't fit the bill for us. It was dry, had an odd texture, burned on the edges but pasta was not done in the middle, and just an ok taste. I really wanted it to turn out better, although I have to say I'm glad I at least tried it.

Macaroni and Cheese V

I was looking for a mac and cheese recipe for which I had all of the ingredients...this one did the trick and turned out great without being too difficult. A good weekday recipe when you want something easy but with some real homemade goodness! Side note, the kids didn't love the breadcrumbs, you could top with more cheese to please them.

Heavenly White Cake

I wish I could have tasted the cake made by someone who rated it high... this just did not work out for me, although with the proportions I should have guessed it would be too much flour, and that's just what it tasted like- flour. Perhaps a half cup less would have made it better. It rose well, but it was so dense, not light and fluffy even though my egg whites were perfect. I wanted this to be heavenly, but it wasn't.

Best Ever Blueberry Cobbler

Sloppy Joe Sandwiches

This was very tasty and made for a very satisfying dinner. It tastes alot like the Brown Sugar Meatloaf recipe, just a little less tangy. I made it with turkey, and instead of the 3/4 teaspoonspf the onion and garlic powders, I added a whole. Good enough to make again!

Baked Spaghetti

YUMMY! Thought it would be even better the next day, but it was best the first day. I added lots of chopped garlic and italian herbs to the meat and onions. I also used the new pouch sauces, I used three... so that's about a jar and a half. Really good!

Brazilian White Rice

I really wanted to give this 5 stars, but for my taste, it needed more garlic and onion, and I didn't quite put in all the salt it called for (thinking it would be ok) but it needed the whole amount. I will try again, but adjusting to my tastes. Good recipe though.

Spicy Garlic Lime Chicken

I left out the cayenne (for the kids), and used frozen chicken strips that I defrosted halfway, then threw in the pan. That made for too much liquid, so I had to cook longer and then brown. I doubled the spice mixture and it was just about right. It turned out SO tasty! The lime flavor was just right, and I bet it's great with the cayenne. I will for sure put this into the rotation, and might even make up a shaker of the spices (like other reviewers). Delicious, healthy, and easy!! What more could you want!

Orange Gelatin Salad

If you like cottage cheese, you would give this recipe 5 stars. Having said that, the cottage cheese taste and texture really turned me off on this. Cream cheese would be better for me. Definitely an interesting recipe... I'll experiment!

Dark Chocolate Cake I

This is a great cake, very good taste, moist, it even rose well for me in my oven that tends not to cook evenly. It makes a big batch of batter, I used a 9x13 and still had enough for 6 cupcakes! I take "Dark" to mean the color of the cake, but the flavor is a medium chocolate. My mother makes brownies very similar to this and I have always loved those. Cocoa always makes for a great dessert. Yum!

Slow Cooker Beef Stew I

I read the reviews on this one, made the stew, and I have to say the reviews are pretty accurate. This is a good stew, but not the best. I added about a cup more broth and mushrooms. I am eating it right now a day after I made it, and it still needs more depth of flavor. Red wine, more spices...not sure what else. It's worth eating, but I'll try a different recipe next time.

Delicious Raspberry Oatmeal Cookie Bars

Ok, I really liked the taste of these, they certainly were very good. They would be even better with cinnamon mixed in. However, mine turned out pretty crumbly, although that might be due to the fact that I doubled the recipe. Doubling it also made them brown unevenly (although it might be my oven). The ends were too dry, but the middle was perfect (yet it still fell apart easily). My butter was very soft while mixing, and that helped make the mixing easier. Perhaps this affected how crumbly they were...I'll probably one day make these again, and hopefully they will be even better!

Chuck's Favorite Mac and Cheese

I really liked this, it had a very mellow but yummy flavor, and it was nice and creamy. The topping was super yummy too. I liked that it stayed creamy while baking, alot of times baked mac and cheese gets hard on the top, but not this one. I'll make this again.
