Tomato and Basil Pasta Sauce

WOW! This was so good!! Next time I'll cut back on the red pepper flakes... I put in too much. Made this from cherry tomatoes growing in my garden. Super good!! Thanks!

Broccoli Chicken Divan

Loved this recipe!! Doubled the recipe, added 1/2 cup sour cream and 1 tsp garlic powder and baked in a 9x13. Sooo yummy!!!

Loved this!!! 1st time I made this I left out the cilantro (didn't have any)... I thought the cornstarch might have been a bit much as the sauce tasted a tad grainy... next time I may cut the cornstarch in half but otherwise it's a fantastic recipe!! Thanks!!

Kickin' Turkey Burger with Caramelized Onions and Spicy Sweet Mayo

These were AWESOME!!! I've never been a fan of turkey burgers, but this recipes changed my mind!! Mayo worked well with burgers and then on sandwiches for DAYS!!! Will definitely be in my rotation!

Pumpkin Scones

Even tho this recipe got not so great reviews, I had to try it with a few modifications.... For starts, I couldn't help but wonder if the lack of success of others was due to the lack of baking powder. It did call for "self rising" flour, but if you missed that part, your scones could fall flat. I did at first, but ended up adding 5tsp of baking powder to the mix. I also sprinkled a cinnamon/sugar mix on the top and baked for about 35 minutes.. they came out nice and fluffy, more breadlike than scone like, actually, but tasty. They aren't too sweet, but scones typically aren't anyway... a little pumpkn butter and/or devonshire cream would do these up nicely :). I give it 4 stars with adjustments :)

Sweet Pumpkin Seeds

These turned out really good! I'm not a huge fan of pumpkin seeds, but wanted my kids to try them and I have to say, I was impressed. They were easy to make and not messy at all... I didn't have parchment so I used aluminum foil and lightly sprayed it with cooking spray. I stirred the seeds and butter in a bowl to coat, then added the cinnamon and sugar (per recipe instructions)... stirred again to coat and baked... at each interval, I put the seeds back in the bowl to mix and recoat. Had to cook an additional 10 min to get the consistency I wanted, but other than that, I didn't change anything :).

Southern Turkey Cornbread Pot Pie

This was great! I doubled the recipe used a frozen mixed veggie and used the Jiffy Cornbread for the topping... Husband and kds loved it. Great quick recipe that will definitely make it into my rotations :). Thanks!

Garlic Chicken Fried Brown Rice

This was "ok"... Flavor was good and my two kids ate it, but for me the texture was a little too soft... probably because I'm used to white rice instead of brown. Will probably make again, but wasn't uber-impressed.

London Broil for the Slow Cooker

WOW!! This turned out so much better than I anticipated! A generic brand of cream of mushroom soup (that looked really nasty!) couldn't even keep this recipe down. The only changes I made was adding a can of mushrooms to the pot and using a 2.29lb london broil as that was what I had on hand. Kids gobbled it up 2 days in a row!! Will definitely be adding this to my rotations!

Heddy's Black and Red Bean Soup

I made this with the maple syrup... it was ok, but nothing to write home about. Needs a little more flavor. I'll have to play with it to make it just right, but my kids had a hard time eating it.

Aw-some Cole Slaw

This coleslaw is fantastic!!! Tastes just like KFC! I used Fresh Express pre-packed cabbage and left out the onion (didn't have any on hand) and it was great!!!! Definitely needs to sit, preferably overnight. It's not quite the same if eaten right away. Will definitely make again and again!

Brooke's Best Bombshell Brownies

WOW!!! These brownies ARE the bomb!!!! The ONLY change I made (if you can evan call it a "change") is I used DARK cocoa powder instead of regular. Holy Cow!!! SOO good!!! Rivals the brownies at Boston Market!! I just made them again and added half semisweet chips and half white chips because that's what I had on hand, but I have no doubt they will be just as fabulous! Thanks for sharing!!

Layered Chicken and Black Bean Enchilada Casserole

I totally botched this recipe and it still turned out ok. I didn't have an 11x7 so I used a 13x9... accidentally mixed the sauce in with the meat mixture and added the sour cream and cheese to the top before putting it in the oven. It still turned out good :). I'll need to add more to fill the 13x9 better next time, but will definitely do again :). Oh... I used "The Best Enchilada Sauce" from this site... worked beautifully.

The Best Red Enchilada Sauce

This turned out pretty well... my store didn't have ancho chilies so I used Japanese chilies instead and I only used 4 because I was afraid it would be too spicy for my 2 and 4 year old. I will definitely use this again! ;)
