Roasted Vegetables

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2009
I used all root veggies and Brussels but felt it lacked a little bit of flavor. Next time I need to cook longer and maybe double the oil, vinegar and spices. I love roasted veggies so I'll work on this one!

Corn and Black Bean Salad

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2009
I liked it but it was too sweet and it was swimming in dressing so if I make it again, I'll eliminate the sugar and reduce the dressing.

Slow Cooker Turkey Breast

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2009
I thought this was rather bland and although I cooked it for the amount of time stated, it was overcooked and a little bit dry. I used a 7 lb breast. I'll have to use it in recipes like turkey pie so it'll be in some gravy. Sorry...won't make again. back to the oven for me!

Black Bean And Corn Salad II

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2009
This salad was excellent, high in fiber and so healthy that I'll continue to make it! To make it more WW friendly, I did cut the oil down to 1/8 cup and increased the lime to 1/2 cup, left out the avocado because I don't like it. I'm sure the avocado would have been great for those that like it but it's my salad and I'm eating it! Try this one! :)

Creamy Chocolate Frosting

Made exactly as instructed and it was fabulous! I had to make a large amount because my cake was so big. The sifting was a little bit time consuming but it was worth it. Fabulous!

Tomato Basil Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2009
This was pretty good! I wish I could give it 4 1/2 stars. I only had the brown rice pilaf so I had to cook it much longer and add chicken broth. I think next time, I would cover it part of the time to cook it faster. I didn't have fresh basil so I had to use dried. We'll certainly make it again!

Barbecued Beef

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2009
I kept recipe as written but only made 2 1/4 lbs of beef. Next time, I'd reduce the liquid. The reason for only 4 stars? It was too much vinegar! I would cut it in half because it was too strong. Otherwise, a nice quick meal. :)

Cake Mix Cookies IV

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2009
They're all right. I probably won't make them again. I used 1/3 c oil as suggested on the Pillsbury box and they were pretty good. This is the type of cookie that stays soft and its cakelike. I think I prefer more of a crunch. Back to scratch for me. Yes, simple but still doesn't compare.

Easy Meatloaf

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2009
I thought this was too moist. Way too much liquid and not enough spice. I did add the Worcestershire sauce like others suggested but it still needed more flavor. I also sauteed the onions. My husband loved it and gave it 5 stars...rare for him...but my rating was a 4 due to a little bit of lack of flavor.

Double Chocolate Brownie Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2009
I used mini chocolate chips thinking that they would melt into the cake but that didn't happen. I actually only had 1 1/2 cups of mini so I had to use some regular. I got rave reviews from my family but I think I would cut down the amount of chips by half. I used sugar free pudding (the larger one) because that's what I had.

Easy Lemon Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2009
I'd actually give this 4 1/2 stars. When will Allrecipes allow us to do that? We loved the taste but I found the dough to be very sticky, even after refrigerating overnight. I did use the juice and zest of a lemon rather than the extract. As far as the Fruit Loop taste, my husband is a fan but didn't think they tasted like that and he gave the cookies 5 stars...which is rare for him. I had to lightly oil my hands to roll them. That's how sticky this batter was!

Campbell's® Quick and Easy Chicken, Broccoli and Brown Rice Dinner

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2009
I actually found this recipe in the coupon section of the paper and since it was so quick and easy, we decided to try it. I had bought the regular soup (not low fat or low sodium) and it was good. Could have used a little more flavor. There were alternate recipes, like reducing the water and using orange juice instead for an orange chicken. We'll try that one next. Kudos because it's a super quick meal and it has protein, veggie and a good carb! More flavor would have gotten another star.

Cabbage Beef Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2009
Pretty tasty. I hate cumin so I left it out. I didn't love the consistency of the beef I guess because it had been in the crockpot all day. There's a cabbage roll casserole on here the I LOVE. This is similar except for the beans. This makes a lot. We'll be eating this for a week!

Turkey Pot Pie I

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2009
Instead of the boullion and water, I just used chicken broth because it's the same thing. The recipe made a ton of veggies so I doubled the turkey, milk, flour and broth and made it in a 9x13. I didn't use a bottom crust, just the Pillsbury crust that you unfold (unroll). I'll make this again! My family loved it!

Dark Chocolate Cake I

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2008
Made with brewed coffee for a more intense flavor and due to may reviews, switched the butter to butter flavored Crisco and it was still a little dry. I can't find a scratch cake that is as good as a box cake and not sure why I keep trying when the box is so easy! Sorry but I'll have to go back to box. This was tasty but it needs to be more moist.

Chantal's New York Cheesecake

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2008
Forgot to grease the pan but don't think it was a problem. Doubled the recipe and made a 10 inch, a 9 inch and a small one. I was worried about it all fitting in the 9 in because I'm not used to doing a deep cheesecake. My 10 in was on the top seemed a little dry, a little bit brown on top and had a huge crater (probably due to overbeating) but the smaller ones on the bottom came out nice and creamy (almost undercooked). I didn't use a water bath for any of them. With the help of an online video, I was able to patch up the crater to look like new with no topping! We ate the 9 in and everyone loved it (gave away the 10 in). Had added toffee bits but they were hard to find when all was said and done. Thanks for the recipe!

Baked Sweet Potatoes

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2008
These were a nice change from white potatoes. I was looking for a recipe that didn't include marshmallows since sweet potatoes are sweet enough! And also wanted something that wasn't drowning in soup like some of the other dishes on my in-law's table yesterday. I added some onion and crushed garlic and thought that added some nice flavor. Would make again. Thanks!
