About this Cook
Mid thirties married male who began cooking as an inexpensive way to meet girls in college (found one :). Grew from there into a curiosity about seasonings, spices and preparation methods. I then discover there were others out there, foodies, who loved to taste and try new things.
My favorite things to cook
I enjoy grilling, I got this from my father. I really like to try new ethnic foods and styles of cooking.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My favorite comfort food is chicken pot pie. My mother used to make it and now I have improved it. Everyone who has ever tried it claims it is the best meal they have ever eaten. Of course it never turns out quite the same each time I make it.
My cooking tragedies
Exploding greenbean cassarole! NEVER put pyrex on a hot stove burner. Especially right before your ready to serve thanksgiving dinner.

Marshmallow Cake
WOW! This ultra fluffy cheesecake is the easiest thing to make. It adapts really easy too. I melted some chocolate chips with the marshmallows and ended up with a really nice mousse-like pie.

Baked Pineapple
I was skeptical about this recipe, but needed to bring something to the office holiday party. I had about 7 people ask me for the recipe. Everyone thought it was great, but I thought it was just ok. Maybe I dont like pineapple? It was super easy to make. I scaled the recipe to make 18 servings.

Buttermilk Pancakes II
I took all the ingredients with me on a camping trip last weekend. We had 20 people and they all were raving how delicious the pancakes were. I am now official 'camp cook'. I scaled the recipe for 20 and it worked out perfectly. I was a little short on the buttermilk, but just added a little more milk. one thing I noticed was the batter appeared to go 'flat' by the time I cooked the last couple of pancakes. You couldnt taste a difference , but they were less fluffy.
