About this Cook
My husband and I have parties on a regular basis for 20+ people. It is important to me to be able to make good food, on a budget, doesn't take a lot of time. Our friends have many dietary restrictions so I always make sure there is something for everyone.
My favorite things to cook
Anything my family will like. I prefer easy recipes, but I do occasionally pull out the WOW recipe, just because. :)
My favorite family cooking traditions
Spending time with the family in the kitchen so it becomes second nature to know what to do. My grandbaby is 4 and she can already crack an egg with the best of them. Cooking should be like breathing, and be there without thought.
My cooking triumphs
Everytime a loved one smiles at me over their plate.
My cooking tragedies
I was the worst cook on record when I got married. My first Thanksgiving was a disaster. The turkey was undercooked, the gravy was green. Thank goodness my ex liked gin. :)

Plum Clafouti
Super simple and what a lovely dish. I served it at room temp the day of baking. I made it in a 9 inch pie plate and dusted it with powdered sugar. It was a hit, everyone loved it. It wasn't overly sweet, it was a nice balance and the tartness of the pear skin was a cleansing taste. I didn't use as much cinnamon, just a hint in the background. I think the Italian Prune Plum and lemon zest was a perfect pairing.

Gnocchi with Sage-Butter Sauce
It's potato puffs with butter and cheese. It would be hard to go wrong but this is too blah. Next time maybe some chives or parsley... something but this as it is won't be making another appearance on my table.

Key Lime Pie VII
Super simple and really easy. I would go just a schoosh light on the lime juice. It was just a bit too tart. I also had a hard time getting the bubbles out but it wasn't a problem. I cooked it about 15/20 minutes before I gave up. Nice recipe. This is a keeper!
