Jenny's Black Forest Cake

This was my first time baking and tasting Black forest cake. It was good and very moist, but I feel it was missing something (not that I have anything to compare it to). Maybe because I was out of regular cocoa powder and used dark chocolate cocoa powder? I don't know...I think if I decided to make it again, I'd tweek the recipe a little.

Buffalo Chip Cookies

These were not bad. A little too sweet for my taste. I, personally, would have liked a richer, more buttery flavored cookie. It's ok...my thighs really didn't need them anyway. My four sons liked them, so that works for me!

Barbecued Beef

My whole family loved this recipe and that is very rare that the six of us agree on one thing. I used a top round roast because the market didn't have rump or bottom, but it was still excellent. I made another batch of the sauce the next day and used that for the sandwiches. We were licking the sauce off the plates. I also added a little cayanne pepper for a spicy kick. It was so yummy that I was asked by my sister-in-law to bring this to her block party in a few weeks. Delish!

Chicken Fried Chicken

Very good recipe and easy to make. Nice crispy coating on the outside. My son enjoyed crushing the crackers into crumbs, so of course he thought they were awesome! I did add a little onion powder to the mixture. Will make again.

Southwestern Egg Rolls

This recipe was excellent! I'd give it ten stars. Instead of frying them I used the filling and made quesadillas. I will try them baked next time as suggested from a previous review (that is if I don't eat the mixture right from the bowl first!) Yummy!

Lasagna Alfredo

This was delicious! Very rich and filling. I did make a few changes. I sauteed the spinach in olive oil and garlic and I used homemade alfredo sauce which is so easy and much better than that jarred stuff. I also used less mozzarella then the recipe called for.

Honey Glazed Ham

This was excellent! I did however make a few changes. I used brown sugar (as suggested by some other reviews) and also added pineapples with juice, a squeeze of maple syrup and a little less cloves. it was really delish!

Buffalo Chicken Dip

Wow! My company went wild for this. I thought it tasted great, but was a little too rich for me. I left out the chedder cheese. I think that would have been way too much. I also used blue cheese instead of ranch.

Bacon Cheddar Deviled Eggs

My Easter company and I thought these were delish! The only change I made was using a little less mustard (1 1/2 tsps.) What a yummy way to get rid of the 75 Easter eggs my kids colored. I will make this recipe every year!

Chicken Souvlaki Gyro Style

I was a little disappointed with this recipe. Way too much oregano for my liking and too much vinegar. I think I would add oil to the marinade and just a little oregano. The recipe also needed salt. I will try again, but will make some changes.

Garlic Chicken

Excellent! This recipe was so simple to make and I was really surprised at how flavorful the chicken was. I've been frying my cutlets for a hundred years, but no more frying for me! I did however bake a little too long and will only bake for about 20-25 minutes next time. Maybe the chicken was too thin for the required baking time given in the recipe.

Ham and Cheese Quiche

Excellent and easy quiche! I served this for a brunch last week and have made three more since then. We can't get enough of it. I used fresh mushrooms sauteed in a little butter and deli ham coarsley chopped instead of canned and also used frozen chopped spinach. If I could give this recipe more than 5 stars I would. Thanks for sharing this great recipe!

Ann's Sister's Meatloaf Recipe

This was a very good meatloaf recipe and easy to make. I covered the meatloaf with ketchup instead of tomato sauce and left out the MSG & bacon. Kids even liked it which was a shocker! I will make this again.

Better Than Best Fried Chicken

Oh my - Oh my! If I could give this recipe 10 stars I would. I can't believe how awesome this chicken was. I don't know if it was the recipe or the cast iron skillet that I stole from my grandfather, or both, but this will be the only fried chicken recipe I will ever make again. I've been looking for a recipe like this for a long time and have tried so many with no luck. I used chicken pieces instead of boneless breasts and I salted the chicken after I took it out of the oil. Thanks for a great recipe.

Down South Sweet Potato Pie

I was not too thrilled, but it was my own fault. I used fresh sweet potato insead of canned and I think that made the difference. Still had an okay flavor, just a little bland for my taste. I'll will try this recipe again.

Cheeseburger Meatloaf

Great meatloaf. Event he kids ate it. I added an extra egg, some onion soup mix and used american cheese instead of cheddar. Cut back on the salt if using the onion soup. It was a bit too much for me. I look forward to making this again.

Apple Pie Filling

I followed the advise of one of the reviews and decreased the water to 5 cups and increased the apples to 24 cups. It was PERFECT!! This is a delicious, great recipe and a wonderful way to use 50lbs of apple from the orchard!

Cocktail Meatballs I

Great appetizer! I did cheat with the store bought meatballs, but nobody seemed to mind. They were so easy make. Just threw'em in the slow cooker.
