You always hear that when a young couple gets married the groom always gains weight once he starts getting home cooked meals from his new bride. Well my husband and I are going on 6 years of marriage and he's probably lost about 40lbs in that time. I'm sad to say that it's been an ongoing joke in my family that I never cook a real meal for my family. If it didn't come out of a box, It probably wasn't me who cooked it! So by joining allrecipes.com I'm hoping to broaden my horizons and feed my hubby and baby some good, healthy, homecooked meals.
My favorite things to cook
I love making rice a roni =o). One of my favorite meals is spaghetti with prego sauce right out of the jar and a loaf of garlic bread with everything already on it that you just have to throw in the oven. My husband thinks it's a joke to eat spaghetti sauce out of a jar. It sure isn't like his mom's, that's for sure! Maybe I'll find a yummy spaghetti sauce recipe on here.
My cooking triumphs
I made calzones once all by myself. They were beautiful and my family really liked them.
My cooking tragedies
I am not talented in the art of cooking. When I was in college I thought I'd make a cake from scratch for my boyfriend. I was not familiar with the term "confectioner's sugar" so I used granulated sugar for the frosting. The cake turned out awesome but the frosting sure was grainy and crunchy!!! (I liked it though)
